Faces of Fraternalism: Larry Malsom, St. Anthony 1972

Longtime COF member Larry Malsom has served St. Anthony 1972 in Linton, North Dakota, as its Chief Ranger for 25 years. He has been a Catholic Order of Foresters member for nearly 60 years.

Over the years, Larry has served as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, served on St. Anthony Catholic Church’s council, and conducted prayer services when priests were unavailable.

At one point in time, you could’ve seen him singing in St. Anthony’s church choir, too.

Larry (along with other St. Anthony 1972 members) has initiated Matching Funds events that directly impacted their southern North Dakota community in addition to organizing Matching Funds events to give back to St. Anthony Catholic Church. His leadership and reliability throughout the years has not gone unnoticed.

“The longevity of his service speaks for itself. That is what has stuck out to me for many years,” said Cecelia Baumstarck of St. Anthony 1972.

“My favorite memory as Chief Ranger of St. Anthony 1972 was our 70th anniversary dinner,” said Larry. Going forward, he and his wife, Eileen, will continue to help St. Anthony 1972 and St. Anthony Catholic Church whenever necessary.
